1. Introduction

Detail Masters ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it. It applies to all users of detailmasters.pro.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Account details: name, email address, password (hashed and never stored in plain text).
  • Profile data: role (customer, business owner, or agent), business name, address, and description.
  • Fleet data: vehicle make, model, year, and licence plate (stored for booking pre-fill).
  • Saved addresses: service locations you save for faster checkout.
  • Booking data: vehicle details, service addresses, appointment times, notes, and promo codes.
  • Subscription data: plan selection, billing cycle, and agent referral codes — payment details are handled entirely by Stripe.
  • Review data: star ratings and written reviews you submit for completed services.
  • Images: photos you or businesses upload, stored via Cloudinary.

Information collected automatically:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps.
  • Device information: operating system, device identifiers.
  • Session cookie used to keep you logged in (see Section 6).

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To process reservation fees and business subscription payments via Stripe.
  • To share booking details with the business you book with (name, contact, vehicle, service address).
  • To send transactional emails: booking confirmations, appointment reminders, status updates, email verification, and password resets.
  • To personalise your experience (pre-filling saved vehicles, addresses, and preferences).
  • To administer agent referral programmes and apply earned discounts.
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Detailing businesses — to fulfil your booking (name, contact details, vehicle info, service address).
  • Stripe — for secure payment processing of reservation fees and business subscriptions (stripe.com/privacy).
  • Cloudinary — for hosting service and business profile images (cloudinary.com/privacy).
  • Resend — for transactional email delivery.
  • Legal authorities — when required by law or to protect our rights.

Note: the service price for your appointment is paid directly to the business — Detail Masters does not process or hold those payments.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, or as necessary to provide the Service. Booking records are retained for 3 years for legal and financial compliance. Subscription billing records are retained as required by applicable tax law. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 8).

6. Cookies

We use a session cookie (dp_session) to keep you logged in between page loads. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features (such as staying logged in) will not work correctly.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, and role-based access controls to protect your data. Payment card data is never transmitted to or stored on our servers — Stripe handles all card processing. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Port your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object to certain processing activities.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
